Senior Counsel - Intellectual Property The candidate will be responsible for handling U.S. and international trademark prosecution, enforcement and counseling. Will handle or oversee clearance/approval of new marks, filing applications, responding to refusals and other official actions, filing maintenance documentation, assignments, address changes, renewals and maintenance fees. Will monitor/police existing marks, including sending cease and desist letters. Will oversee copyright registration and copyright compliance. Litigation duties will include not only IP litigation, but also general commercial litigation. Accordingly, assist with and/or lead investigations, evaluate claims asserted against the company, select and supervise outside counsel, develop overall case strategy, and provide advice to leadership. Must have 5+ years’ experience handling Intellectual Property and appreciable experience handling Litigation matters, preferably with a well-established law firm and/or corporate legal department. Experience managing attorneys and/or staff is essential. Plus factors include vacation ownership or hospitality industry experience and proficiency in Spanish. J.D. with a record of high academic achievement in the undergraduate level and in law school preferred; member of at least one state Bar.
