Land Technician The candidate responsibilities will include: Provide technical and administrative support for the Land Department; Handles AFEs for new wells; Assist in budget preparation and approval; Assists in tracking lease budgets; Preparing, proofing, and processing of various types of agreements for execution and distribution; Prepare and maintain departmental data; Conduct basic land/lease/contract research for Land staff using hard copy land files as well as computer based land data systems; Process land documents to Land Administration Group for entry into company records system; Process land invoices to accounting. Responsible for various clerical duties including, typing, filing, faxing, mail/fax distribution, meeting coordination, travel arrangements/scheduling and other general office duties, as required. Assist with special projects, as needed.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have 3 years of land-related work experience with a High School Diploma or GED. Should preferably have Paralegal Certificate or Associate Degree in Business or Petroleum Land Technology with 5+ yearsâ€™ experience in oil and gas operations. Working knowledge of oil and gas lease documents, special provisions and contracts, title work, land maps, etc., with special attention to details both written and mathematical is required. Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is needed. Knowledge of Regulatory entities for the state of California is a plus. Knowledge of the BLM is helpful. Knowledge of QLS, BNA, GIS, and other oil and gas databases is an asset.
