Maryland Boutique Tax firm seeks Mid- Level Tax Attorney.

Qualified candidates possess strong knowledge of tax laws and issues including federal and state income, employment, international, tax controversy and tax procedure, sales and use tax, tax-exempt and international tax.

The position requires the ability to write comprehensive letters that require little to no revisions. Attorney must meet deadlines, meet minimum billable hours requirements, keep accurate records, follow directions and develop plans to solve financial issues that affect his or her clients. Tax attorney stays up-to-date with IRS regulations and tax laws in order to counsel clients on changes that affect their accounts. 

Attorney will be responsible for a number of different tasks including:

  • Keeping confidential records and tax information for clients
  • Understanding finance and accounting principles
  • Communicating and negotiating with federal, state and local government
  • Evaluating and assessing complicated tax issues
  • Researching and analyzing federal and state laws

This position calls for a self-starter and independent thinker who is a team player and collaborator.  Excellent writing and interpersonal skills a must.  LLM in Tax and/or CPA required.
