ProfileSummer 2018 Internships - Children's Program Interns The intern will assist attorneys, legal assistants and social workers in providing both legal and social support services to unaccompanied children in the San Antonio area. Involves contact with children from all ages, some of which have suffered extensive trauma or other forms of abuse, and who require support services in conjunction with legal representation. Complete intake surveys and follow ups with clients. Speak with clients and assisting attorneys in interviews. Help with detained children’s Know Your Rights presentations. Assist in organizing files. Draft affidavits and country indexes. Assist with translations. Assist attorneys with paperwork. Assist with legal clinics. Conduct legal research. Conduct data processing, cleaning, and entry. Must be studies on or related to Political Science, International Studies, Public Policy, Pre-law, Humanities, Education, Spanish, etc. Must have Spanish language (must be comfortable conversing in Spanish). Background working with diverse populations is preferred. Background working with children and trauma survivors is desired. Application deadline: May 1, 2018.
