Legal Assistant The candidate will initiate and compose standardized legal documents routinely needed for specific legal actions, including motions, orders, answers, pleadings, subpoenas. Assist attorneys in case preparation, assembling exhibits, affidavits and other documents. Assemble and organize files and records for disposition or transfer to records depository. Will maintain court calendar. Track filing, hearing and trial dates, and schedule conferences and interviews. Establish, maintain, and close case files or system of legal records, annotate indices and status records, compile workload and status reports, and locate and abstract data from files and records. Assist attorneys in researching pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents on questions relating to legal matters of interest to the Office of Enforcement. Based on knowledge of the interests, priorities and goals of the Office of Enforcement, collect and prepare summaries of articles relating to consumer issues. Makes travel arrangements for Division staff, including preparing itineraries and securing transportation and hotel reservations. Deadline: 20 August, 2018.
