Spring Internship The intern will have the opportunity to learn how federal legislation is created by gaining a rare perspective into the workings of Capitol Hill and the legislative branch. Interns have the opportunity to see how legislation directly affects constituents.In addition to general office responsibilities, primary responsibilities of interns include: attending hearings and briefings, researching and summarizing proposed legislation, drafting memos for staff and the Senator, etc. Interacting with constituents, drafting correspondence to constituents and federal agencies, attending community events, meetings, and briefings, etc. Provides an opportunity to be part of a hard-working cohesive team, to make a difference in the lives of others, and to increase one’s understanding of the operations of government agencies and the U.S. Congress. Note : Must be able to work a minimum of 15 hours/week. Deadline: November 5, 2018. Internship Session: January 21, 2019 – May 17, 2019.
