Criminal Defense/Appellate Attorney Appeals Program The candidate will staff a new Appeals Consultation Project. Will serve as an appellate specialist providing support and counsel to trial-level attorneys. Collaborate with trial attorneys to analyze legal issues and develop legal strategy, assist with trial preparation, appear in court for hearings and trials, and provide training on timely legal and forensic issues. The attorney may also carry a small appeals caseload. Must have 7-10 years' experience handling felony-level criminal trials and/or appeals . Excellent analytical, research, writing, oral advocacy, and interpersonal skills are required. Admission to the New York State Bar is required. Should be experienced and talented attorney committed to indigent defense for its Appeals Program.
