Legal Assistant Candidate is a team player who takes personal responsibility for work product and is a self-starter with the ability to work with little direction and make decisions independently. Prior experience in the legal field is a must as these particular positions demand extraordinary assistant/clerical skills with the added challenge of complex contract analysis, spreadsheet development, litigation elements and practice management ability. Superior proofreading skills including grammar, clarity, formatting, spelling and consistency. Advanced writing skills including drafting correspondence, creating exhibits lists, completing forms, etc.. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. The ability to efficiently manage large workloads while maintaining accuracy. Litigation experience including drafting pleadings, docketing, managing deadlines and assisting with document production. Self-motivation and the ability to direct oneâ€™s own work. Expert proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, including advanced document construction, formatting, redlining, importing/exporting data and the creation of formulas in spreadsheets. Solid working knowledge of PowerPoint. Strong internet research skills. Mathematical skills including the ability to write equations for analytical purposes (e.g. percentages, ratios and interest).
