Senior Compliance Analyst - PDV Compliance
The candidate provides unique and critical services connecting the product conceptualization, pre and post launch compliance, development and implementation functions for the Life and Annuity Division – this includes affiliated and acquired companies. Works with state insurance departments, and other regulatory agencies, to gain approval of forms. Responsible for the maintenance of records of correspondence between the Company and state insurance departments for disapprovals, responses and approvals. Works with other internal departments to implement forms after approval. Responsible for independent development and drafting of contracts and forms in accordance with product specifications and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Coordinates with Product Development, Legal, Internal Systems, Claims, New Business and Insurance Administration to design and draft compliant forms that maximize and enhance the customer experience. Responsible for coordinating policy reviews, editing, finalization and obtaining internal approval of all contracts assigned. Provides subject matter expertise for the creation and approval of product related materials, including marketing materials, training presentations, Direct to Consumer and co-branded websites, and producer information. Works under general supervision of Director II, Product Development. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of assignments requiring the ability to work independently. Demonstrates a significant understanding and knowledge of state filing requirements, is expected to file life, annuity, and supplemental health contract forms, riders, and endorsements independently. Drafts changes to forms in response to state insurance department requests with a certain degree of independence. Responsible for legal research and analysis. Tracks statutory and regulatory changes, analyzes impact to operations, communicates to management and business units and participates in and ensures implementation of the same. Advises senior management, product development and marketing teams of competitive and/or regulatory information that can affect the company’s products or the product development process. Provides compliance support for product related issues both organic and acquired blocks. Represents Protective Product Development compliance for industry and trade association calls/meetings. Preparation, submission and Implementation of products, forms and annual state filings. Analysis of and implementation of regulatory requirements that impact products.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have a four-year degree and J.D., Paralegal Certificate or other legal/compliance background. Must have 7+ years of insurance experience, preferably in regulatory and product compliance. Industry designations preferred. Annuity product experience is required. General knowledge of SERFF and I-file essential.
