Litigation Law Assistant / Paralegal The candidate will work closely with, and under the immediate direction of attorneys. Will assist with general paralegal duties. Perform general case management and other duties as assigned. Perform document management utilizing firm software to include Microsoft and Relativity. Perform legal research using Westlaw, Lexis, the internet and various government agency sites. Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, legal memoranda. Filing court documents. Identify and submit for docketing, court and case deadlines using firm software. Manage ongoing assigned court and case deadlines. Assist attorneys with reviewing, organizing, and summarizing case materials, mail, and other related documents. Assist in preparation of matrices, charts, and spreadsheets as needed. Assist in preparation of privilege logs. Create, revise, and proofread documents with high accuracy. Assist with mediation and trial preparation. Keep accurate time records for both billable and non-billable tasks. Undergraduate degree and/or ABA approved paralegal certificate highly preferred. Must have 1-2 years of litigation experience as a paralegal or legal secretary. Should be proficient in state and federal court filings. Must be able to read, write and communicate fluent English; able to compose documents in the appropriate business style using correct grammar and spelling; able to communicate clearly using proper grammar and diction over the telephone. Should have the ability to process routine daily functions while being able to resolve sensitive issues and complex assignments utilizing above average critical thinking skills. Should be proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Adobe and PowerPoint).

Hire some more employees to take on the load. That will make things more efficient and help in the long run.

Pros : This is a great place to be, that cares about the employee and the customer very well. I always feel like I am learning here, and that I'm making strides in my career.
Cons : Sometimes, the amount of work that has to get gets stressful. I feel like I work very long hours, when things could be cut down sometimes.
