IP Attorney The candidate will Collaborate with technical staff and senior leadership to evaluate inventive concepts for IP protection, including: Reviewing prior art and developing overall filing strategies and Conducting patentability. Will prepare and prosecute high quality patent applications to protect firm Chemicalsâ€™ informationâ€™s and discoveries. Provide trademark, copyright and trade secret counsel as needed. Provide infringement, validity and freedom to act opinions. Supervise outside counsel supporting various aspects of firm Chemicalsâ€™ intellectual property initiatives. Prepare confidentiality, license, joint development and other agreements. Provide occasional general legal support as needed. Monitor compliance with firm Chemicalsâ€™ copyright, trademark, internet and social media policies. Should have JD degree from an ABA-approved law school with focus on intellectual property and 3+ years of relevant experience. Should have 2+ years of relevant experience as a chemical patent attorney. Registered to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office is essential. Excellent interpersonal and communication skill is essential. Must have a B.S. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. An advanced degree or equivalent technical experience is preferred. Background in polymers, catalysts, and/or plastics is preferred.
