Associate Director - Legal Services
The candidate working with senior staff, will lead the organization's efforts on development, community outreach, and plans for the program's direction. The Associate Director will provide supervision and oversight for the managing attorney, who directly oversees the legal staff, and the DC office's legal assistant. The position reports to the Vice President - Center for Refugee and Immigrant Children and is based in Washington, DC office. Duties: Oversee and manage company’s Legal Services Program; Provide training, mentorship, and supervision to legal staff and administrative support staff; Work with the Vice President and other senior staff to organize and lead the program in its new direction, including the development of its pro bono attorney program; Collaborate with the Development department for fundraising initiatives and grant proposals; Establish community connections through outreach, events, training and other activities; Represent company at meetings with other agencies and engage in other networking activities; Work with the Director of Finance and Compliance to ensure proper program and grant financial management, including management of client fee-based legal services; Oversee efforts to strengthen program policies and procedures; Assist in office operations, including financial management, data entry and maintenance, and reports, as needed; and Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor(s).

Qualification and Experience

A J.D. from an accredited law school is preferred. Must have some experience and familiarity with immigration legal services and/or pro bono legal assistance programs, including recruiting pro bono attorneys. Some experience with fundraising and development activities is required. 2 years of program management experience is needed. Must have experience supervising staff; with a preference for someone who has supervised legal staff, pro bono attorneys, and interns. Should have experience working with refugees, immigrants, low-income communities, children, survivors of domestic violence, survivors of sexual assault, or other gender-based violence. Must have excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Written and verbal fluency in Spanish is preferred;
