ECommerce Compliance Subject Matter Expert - Compliance - Director of Marketplace Compliance – Walmart eCommerce Regulatory Compliance
The candidate reporting to the Vice President of eCommerce Regulatory Compliance, will: Serve as the eCommerce Marketplace Compliance subject matter expert supporting local and international markets with ecommerce expertise related to marketplace platforms, including best practices and initiatives to mitigate risk and enable business functions; Coordinate with business, product, engineering, legal and other teams to ensure that compliance processes for various functions (such as item setup, pricing, logistics, online catalog and content and other eCommerce services) address legal and compliance requirements, including requirements from certain agencies (such as FCC, FTC, EPA, local State AGs, etc.); Lead strategic cross-functional initiatives to ensure regulatory compliance, mitigate risk, and enhance current compliance strategies and processes; and Develop decision-making frameworks, perform and oversee industry and market analysis, and communicate progress and measures of success to senior leadership and key internal stakeholders. Should have JD and/or experience in Legal or Regulatory Compliance teams. Must have experience implementing legal and compliance controls (including technology) to enforce regulations and other legal requirements. Must have experience working with, and excellent knowledge of, eCommerce legal and compliance matters, including experience with Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, US consumer protection, product safety and related laws and regulations (additional experience in competition, cross-border trade, environmental, and health & wellness are a plus). Must have experience working with various regulatory agencies such as FCC, FTC, EPA, ATF, and FDA. Make an impact by: Developing vision and strategy for the development of policies, procedures and projects in U.S. eCommerce compliance by benchmarking industry best practices; evaluating and reporting on key performance metrics; and assessing and directing the cross-functional development of policies to ensure organizational alignment across the enterprise. Enabling business functions by driving technology development; leading cross-functional teams to incorporate an eCommerce compliance focus; analyzing complex emerging technology and operational requirements; and evaluating U.S. eCommerce initiatives and best practices prior to release to customers or associates. Performing U.S. eCommerce compliance risk assessments (including impact, likelihood and ratings) and addressing gaps; monitoring, facilitating, and/or supporting legal, compliance and risk mitigation for audits; and coordinating with legal and other stakeholders to respond to regulatory and other investigations. Should have Law degree and 2 years experience in compliance, government relations, consumer protection, risk assessments or related field OR Bachelor’s degree in Business, Government Relations, Pre-law or related field and 5 years experience in compliance, government relations, consumer protection, risk assessments or related field OR 7 years experience in compliance, government relations, consumer protection, risk assessment or related field.
