Compliance Attorney The candidate will advise on compliance-related matters internal and external to the organization. Will report to the Assistant General Counsel for company. Work closely and coordinate with other departments and other members of company's team at each of the company’s offices and locations. Handle a variety of legal projects falling within the company’s overall Compliance Program, including: advising business teams, advising other practice groups in the Legal Department, reviewing and drafting compliance-related documents (such as policies, procedures and guidelines), tracking compliance initiatives, and overseeing due diligence. Counsel and advise company on compliance issues affecting its business, including all divisions. Implement and execute company’s Compliance Program with emphasis on FDA compliance, EU company compliance, Health Canada compliance, state or local licensing, labeling, marketing claims and record keeping. Interpret and prepare legal documents for use internally, with vendors or with government agencies. Stay current on legal issues relating to tobacco, nicotine, hemp, CBD or other products of interest to the company. Analyze proposed and existing legislation and provide guidance to management on current legal matters. Conduct and document compliance training for company. Track effectiveness of compliance initiatives. Assist with drafting of policies, procedures and guidelines addressing compliance-related issues. Assist with the provision of legal advice to management regarding compliance matters. Assist with special projects as assigned by SVP and General Counsel, Management Team, or Assistant General Counsel. Should have a J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school. Must have 4-6 years of experience and knowledge of consumer goods with tobacco or FDA experience a plus. Project management experience is preferred.
