Documentation Associate The Candidate will be responsible to provide support to various M&TRCC departments including Origination, Underwriting, Closing/Delivery and Asset Management on day-to-day matters and other issues that may arise in connection with its clients and Agency loans. Work with closing attorneys and borrower counsel to research, analyze, and resolve issues which may impact closing dates and successful loan deliveries to the GSEs, including negotiation of terms and conditions on behalf of M&TRCC and the GSEs. Preparation of standard and, non-standard, complex documentation including customized terms and conditions specific to the transaction (s) being evaluated. Preparation of such documentation may include research, analysis, and independently formulated recommendations. Review and analyze requests with respect to prospective and new transactions and modification of existing transactions. Review loan documents and related forms; assist in processing document waivers. Assist Asset Management with GSE documentation requests, such as partial releases, easements, etc. Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies. Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Bachelor’s degree, or 4+ years work experience in lieu of degree. Juris Doctor (J.D.) or 3+ years paralegal or similar relevant work experience. Thorough knowledge of personal computers and related departmental software programs. GSE Multifamily loan closing experience. Familiarity with commercial lending. Paralegal certificate or law degree from an ABA-accredited institution. Excellent verbal and written communication skills . The ability to interact with a variety of personnel at all levels. Strong customer service skills.
