# Deputy Supervisor, Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Division, Suburban Districts The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office is seeking a Deputy Supervisor in the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Division for their suburban districts. The Deputy Supervisor will be responsible for the oversight of the Assistant State’s Attorneys assigned to the suburban districts, as well as supervising the charging of all the sexual assault cases in the suburban districts. This is a full-time bargaining unit exempt position. ## Duties and Responsibilities The Deputy Supervisor of the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Division will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: - Working alongside other deputy supervisors in managing the multi-faceted responsibilities of the division - Ensuring that cases, from assignment to disposition, are prosecuted fairly and handled properly - Charging sexual assault and abuse cases as well as the prosecution of those cases in the suburban districts - Serving as a member of the Children’s Advocacy Center Advisory Board, suburban SART groups, and the suburban multidisciplinary case reviews - Supervising and training of the misdemeanor level Domestic Violence ASAs assigned to the suburban districts - Reviewing misdemeanor domestic violence cases and working with the Felony Review Unit and police liaisons concerning felony upgrades - Rotating with the other SADV supervisors being on call for SADV felony review related inquiries - Attending meetings, conducting trainings and presentations locally and nationally, and fostering community outreach through presentations and various events representing the SAO ## Working Environment & Reporting Structure The Deputy Supervisor will work in collaboration with the other Deputy Supervisors within the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Division and will have approximately 16 ASAs as direct reports (subject to increase). The Deputy Supervisor will report directly to the Supervisor of the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Division. ## Minimum Qualifications - Ability to manage the needs of both junior and experienced attorneys, including caseload management, training, and support their attorneys in pursing long-term development opportunities - Consistently observe and review the work of attorneys, both inside and outside of the courtroom, to offer productive feedback and motivate ongoing improvements - Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills; advanced case law and statutory knowledge in criminal law and procedure; and serve as a personal and professional resource and thought partner to their attorneys and colleagues - Consistently demonstrate sound judgment, critical thinking, dedication to work product, and effective time management, while also supporting their attorneys in doing so - Uphold the mission and values of the Office at all times and support their attorneys in doing the same - Exercise integrity and decorum in all situations ## Salary The salary for the Deputy Supervisor of the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Division is competitive and commensurate with experience. ## Contact To apply, forward a copy of your resume and statement of interest to Tolu Tepede, Legal Hiring at .
