Law Firm is Seeking a Construction Attorney (Hybrid) Law Firm, a mid-sized and growing education law firm with a statewide practice representing school and community college districts, is looking for a mid-level associate to join its Business, Property and Construction Law Practice Group. Candidates will be considered for any of the following offices: San Francisco, Long Beach, San Diego, Sacramento, East Bay, or Fresno. ## Qualifications The ideal candidate should have 5-7 years of construction legal experience and should possess the following qualifications: - Demonstrated knowledge of public procurement and contract negotiation, including bidding processes and alternative delivery method contracts, as well as the legal framework applicable to public agency contracting - Demonstrated ability to prepare a broad range of bid packages and procurement documents, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of types of contracts, such as construction contracts, special services agreements, contracts for equipment, materials, and supplies, and agreements for professional services - Knowledge of bid protests, requests for substitution, stop payment notice claims, change orders, delay and cost overrun claims, payment bond issues, contract termination, and payment disputes - Flexibility, initiative, and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal matters arising in representing public entities, and strong aptitude for learning - Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks, with strong attention to detail and accuracy - Demonstrated success working as a team player in a fast-paced environment, as well as the ability to work independently - Excellent writing, research, analytical, and communication skills - Admitted to the California State Bar In addition, prior school or community college district representation is preferred, and subject matter knowledge across several of the following areas is a plus, but not required: - Construction litigation experience - Technology procurement and contracting - Real property transactions, including property development, sales, purchases, and leases, and eminent domain - Energy service contracts - CMAS contracts - Piggybacking - DTSC processes - CEQA compliance ## Vaccination Requirement An offer of employment will be contingent upon being fully vaccinated and providing proof of your COVID-19 vaccine upon commencing employment.
