A law firm is seeking an experienced litigator specializing in real estate litigation to join its team in Aliso Viejo, CA. This role involves managing landlord-tenant and lender defense cases from initiation through trial. Location:
Duties:
- Handle real estate litigation matters, including eviction, landlord-tenant, and lender defense cases from start to finish.
- Represent secured creditors, investors, and property owners.
- Navigate litigation processes in alignment with California Civil Procedures.
- Optional: Address federal and state laws governing evictions, lender foreclosures, and local regulations (., CA HOBR, Non-judicial foreclosures under Civ. Code § 2924 et. seq., evictions under CCP § 1161).
- Attend trials and other legal proceedings.
- Engage in client communication and provide strategic legal advice.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in litigation, landlord-tenant law, or lender defense litigation.
- Proven trial experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of California Civil Procedures.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- A small book of business is a plus but not required.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Active Bar license in California.
Skills:
- Expertise in real estate litigation processes and case management.
- Ability to interpret and apply California state and federal laws related to real estate and lending.
- Strong courtroom advocacy and client representation skills.
