Bankruptcy Paralegal The candidate will be monitoring cases throughout the lifecycle of the bankruptcy. Will be filing, amending, or withdrawing claims on behalf of U.S. Bank National Association. Reviewing confirmed plans for treatment and repayment. Researching and responding to legal requests received from the Trustee or Debtorâ€™s Attorney. Researching and gathering supporting documentation for Defensive Litigation referral. Reviewing Adversary Complaints and preparing legal summaries for Litigation review. Answering incoming calls from customerâ€™s, attorneyâ€™s or trusteeâ€™s. Performing research to determine if an account should be coded as bankrupt, and updating the status of the bankruptcy to include dismissal or discharge and case closure. Reviewing various reports to ensure case is accurately updated, balance is correct prior to filing proof of claim, claim is accepted, and case is properly closed. Additional responsibilities may be assigned. Must have a Bachelor's degree or Paralegal/Legal Assistant Certificate from an accredited program. Should have 2-5 years of experience in legal documentation activities. Effective verbal and written communication skills are preferred. Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously is a plus. Ability to perform research and analysis is preferred. Thorough knowledge of legal and regulatory issues is a plus. Chapter 13 Filings and Plan Reviews is preferred.
