State Regulatory Attorney Duties: Handling legal/regulatory matters before the state utility commission and appellate courts. Working on complex regulatory matters as part of a team with other attorneys, business units, and outside counsel. Handling aspects of multiple ongoing cases simultaneously. Drafting and reviewing both legal pleadings and business documents. Representing the Company in mediation and litigation of customer disputes. Providing legal support and strategic and business advice to business units on state regulatory matters. Assisting, handling, and managing, as applicable, regulatory matters before various state public utility regulatory agencies. Working on litigated matters and administrative rulemaking proceedings.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: JD Degree from an accredited university required. Member in good standing of at least one of the following state Bars: PA, MD. 3+ years professional work experience required practicing law. Prior experience related to state public utility regulation and practice before a state regulatory utility commission. Electric utility industry experience helpful. Solid written and oral communication skills. Ability to work with all levels within the organization. Strong work ethic, initiative and organizational skills. Demonstrated willingness and ability to understand new topical areas. Ability to multitask and manage time to adhere to strict deadlines. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team on complex matters.
