A housing stipend is offered to those who meet the eligibility requirements. Students are responsible for securing their own housing if needed. This 2019 Spring Co-Op position begins in January, 2019 and runs through either May or August, 2019. (This is not a summer internship.) Job responsibilities As a Co-op in the International Trade Compliance (ITC) department at Danbury, CT, you will be supporting ISR & Space Systems’ ITC program. This requires maintaining applicable trade compliance records in accordance with UTAS policy and regulatory requirements that directly support U.S. national security interests. You will: Provide support to investigations Support domestic and international trade show requirements for the Danbury site Interface with site business focals to help establish the scope of export authorizations Complete UTAS standard work for new authorizations Assist with end user vetting Interface with the logistics team to ensure compliant transfer of hardware The ITC Co-op will work with multiple functional groups at the Danbury site and ISR & Space Systems, including Business Development, Engineering, Program Management, Sales, Contracts, Logistics, Quality, and Shipping. The nature of our global business is complex, and we rely on our Legal, Contracts and Compliance (LCC) team to help us get the job done. Qualification: Knowledge of basic MS Office tools including Word, Excel and Powerpoint Ability to work independently and be self disciplined Strong analytical skills Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration Critical/strategic thinking ability Strong interpersonal and communications skills Due to contract requirements, this position is only available to US Citizens (No Dual Citizenship) Education: You must be pursuing a degree in Law, Political Science, International Relations, or International Business; other disciplines may be considered.
