Job Overview:

A prestigious law firm in Richmond, VA, is seeking a skilled and experienced Litigation Associate Attorney. This position involves representing various clients in litigation and pre-litigation matters across a wide array of practice areas, including personal injury defense, insurance matters, product liability, and commercial disputes. The role requires strong courtroom experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently on complex legal issues.

Duties:

  • Represent individuals, corporations, insurance companies, and self-insured entities in various litigation and pre-litigation matters.
  • Handle cases involving personal injury, wrongful death, policy coverage, product liability, aviation, transportation, premises liability, and professional liability.
  • Engage in litigation of shareholder disputes, contract actions, landlord-tenant claims, creditors' rights, fiduciary claims, and environmental claims.
  • Provide representation in trial and appellate courts at both state and federal levels, including administrative hearings.
  • Manage depositions, coordinate expert witnesses, and handle mediation and arbitration processes.
  • Collaborate with clients to devise effective legal strategies and resolve disputes efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Active Virginia State Bar licensure.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant litigation experience in state and federal courts.
  • Proven ability to handle depositions, mediation, arbitration, and expert witness coordination.
  • Strong research, writing, and legal analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong judgment and initiative.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Must be in good standing with the Virginia State Bar.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice in Virginia.
  • Admission to federal courts (preferred but not required).

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research tools and document management systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and cloud-based legal tools.
