ProfileLegislative Attorney The candidate Carries out the functions of the Office of Council Services, including assisting the County Council, its committees, and the Council members in their legislative responsibilities. Routine work includes reviewing and analyzing laws, opinions, bills, resolutions, budget documents, contracts, and other documents upon request. Perform other research work requiring legal training; performing a variety of research work for the Office of Council Services, involving the necessary study, research analysis, and compilation of requested research work. Staffing Council committee meetings. Use of current word processing software is required. Occasionally, attendance at night meetings and off-island meetings may be required, as well as travel by light aircraft or ferry. Moderate lifting, setting up facilities, operating automobiles and use of electronic and sound equipment. Other duties as assigned. Must have current Hawaii State Bar license. Should have strong research and writing skills. Qualification on a test administered by the Office of Council Services required. Must have Valid motor vehicle operator's license. Should have ability to lift equipment weighing 30 pounds.
