Legal Assistant - Bankruptcy Document Preparer Duties: Prepare legal documents such as Motions for Relief, Proofs of Claim, and Motions to Validate Foreclosure Sale. Retrieve, review and analyze documents provided by the client to ensure their accuracy in order to prepare the legal documents. Documents to be reviewed may include detailed client screen prints, loan documents, or account statements. Research for missing information and documents, and request from client, if needed. Edit and revised documents as instructed by Attorney and Client. Record all forms of communication from and to the Client by updating the Firm’s internal case-management system, CaseMax. Image and label documents necessary for document preparation to the Firm’s image center, PaperWise. Compile document package to be uploaded to Client’s system for review. Communicate effectively with the Attorney, Client, and docket clerk to resolve issues as they arise. Serve as backup to fellow employees.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. 6+ months office experience or a college degree. Intermediate knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Office Programs. Ability to type a minimum of 35 WPM. Strong data entry skills.
