Paralegal Legal Assistant Duties: Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, notices and subpoenas. Manage electronic (ECF) filing process for attorneys. Conduct various document searches and factual research using Westlaw. Assist with preparations for hearings, mediations and trials. Index and maintain files that are organized chronologically, numerically and/or by subject matter. Collect, organize, analyze and summarize medical records. Organize and prepare exhibits, files and all other supporting documents for trial. Work in Relativity, Concordance or other databases. Schedule and prepare for depositions as needed.
Qualification and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS: Paralegal certificate from an accredited paralegal program with 1+ year of experience or 3 years legal assistant experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Superior technology skills – must demonstrate proficiency in MAC, Excel, PowerPoint. Ability to prioritize, organize and manage workload. – Must be able to multi-task. Takes the initiative in handling projects and anticipating what needs to be done. Works collaboratively and cooperatively with others. Requires a high degree of professionalism and the ability to exercise good judgment. Demonstrates teamwork. Detail oriented.
