Senior Tax Analyst The candidate Prepares/reviews state and local income/franchise tax returns and estimated payments accurately and on time. Prepares/reviews federal, international and state tax workpaper packages, including depreciation amortization and apportionment schedules. Researches federal, state income and franchise tax laws and regulations for transactions executed by the company and its affiliates. Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of federal, international, state and local tax laws. Initiates memos concerning major tax issues. Review activities at various location to ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws. Recommends and implements, when requested, best tax practices with regard to income/franchise tax issues to minimize adverse impacts on the company or the general business plan. Provides information and assistance to consultants who provide various tax services to the company, including requesting reports for use in analysis, preparing appeals and improving existing processes. Assist finance department personnel with issues involving accounting for income taxes. Oversees the quarterly Corporate Tax Estimates Preparation Process (Federal and State). Coordinates the completion of Form 5471 International Tax. Questionnaires with the company’s non-US affiliate finance teams. Assists Tax Managers and Tax Directors on other projects as assigned. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Advanced degree would be a plus). A CPA certificate and/or graduate tax or law degree is preferred. Must have knowledge of laws and regulations for federal, state, local and international income tax and state and local franchise taxes. Should have experience with large domestic consolidated group with international operations a plus. Knowledge of general accounting principles and procedures, company structure and legal organization is required. Should have working knowledge of tax compliance software (OneSource Income Tax), depreciation software (Sage) and tax provision software (OneSource preferred). Experience with HFM financial reporting and ERP General Ledger systems (Oracle preferred) is required. Advanced skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office products are needed. Should have familiarity with tax research software (BNA, CCH). Should have good written and oral communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
