Corporate / Transactional Paralegal
The candidate will report primarily to attorneys who specialize in representing a wide range of tax-exempt and nonprofit organizations, with a particular emphasis on churches, denominations, and other religious organizations, in corporate, tax, and other transactional (non-litigation) matters. Project, document, and file management. Client interface (including with clergy and other ecclesiastical/denominational/religious leaders). Entity formation and legal writing and research. Document drafting for attorney review, including IRS and state tax and regulatory agency forms. Tracking billable hours and daily time entries. Must have a four-year college degree and/or a paralegal certificate. Should preferably have 3+ years of experience working under the supervision of an attorney (entry-level candidates will be considered). Must have previous work experience in Entity formation; tax-exemption applications; Governmental filings; Legal entity compliance and maintenance; Drafting agreements; Entity dissolutions. Should have outstanding organizational and computer/word processing skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Should have strong multitasking with the ability to manage multiple client and administrative projects at the same time. Should be a detail-oriented team player with excellent grammar, spelling, proofreading, and verbal and interpersonal skills. Should have a demonstrated interest in tax-exempt and nonprofit organizations.
