A law firm in Richmond, VA is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have substantial business, complex, and general litigation experience, including trials, motions practice, discovery, and settlement. Admission to the Virginia State Bar is required, and the candidate should possess excellent academic credentials, as well as exceptional research, analytical, written, and oral communication skills. Clerkship experience and experience advocating before administrative bodies or in arbitration are considered a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage and handle various litigation matters, including business, complex, and general litigation cases.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case development.
• Prepare and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
• Participate in all stages of litigation, including trial preparation, motions practice, discovery, and settlement negotiations.
• Represent clients in court, including arguing motions, conducting examinations, and presenting evidence.
• Collaborate with clients to gather information, provide legal advice, and update them on case progress.
• Advocate effectively before administrative bodies or in arbitration settings when applicable.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
• Maintain a high standard of professionalism and ethical conduct in all client interactions and legal proceedings.

Requirements:

• Admission to the Virginia State Bar is required.
• 2-5 years of litigation experience, including business, complex, and general litigation.
• Experience with trials, motions practice, discovery, and settlement is essential.
• Excellent academic credentials with a strong record of performance.
• Exceptional research, analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
• Clerkship experience is a plus.
• Experience advocating before administrative bodies or in arbitration is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Virginia State Bar.
