Legal Contracts Specialist The candidate will be responsible for preparing, examining, analyzing, negotiating (in person and over conference calls), and revising contracts that involve the purchase or sale of goods or services such as equipment, materials, supplies, or products. This position works cross departmentally and looks to reduce Niagara’s risk through contracting. Assist with contract drafting, administration and tracking of key legal provisions. Negotiate contract terms, conditions, standards and language in great detail with opposing contracting party with minimal supervision. Maintain accurate contract records and files in contract database for better reporting accuracy. Training of new plants, new corporate personnel and departments on the contracting and Certificate of Insurance (COI) Process Misc. projects requested on an as-needed basis.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have Bachelor’s Degree. Preferred (Optimal Candidate): Master’s or J.D. Should have 3+ years of experience. Must have effective negotiation, organizational and decision making skills with ability to plan, prioritize and multi-task. Should have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, customers and vendors; The position has extensive contact with variouslevels of both internal and external customers. Must have ability to review, comprehend, and, as necessary, rephrase/edit complicated legal language. Excellent business and legal writing skills are needed. Must have ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) to all levels of the organization. Should have dvanced knowledge of contract law and its application in the purchasing process. Must have strong leadership skills, be very detail oriented, have strong organizational and time management skills. Spanish Speaking/ Writing are preferred.
