Director, Legal Operations The candidate will establish and lead Legal operations in a global enterprise software company. Handle accruals, budgeting, forecasting and monitoring of actual performance against budgets and forecasts. Develop and implement strategies and programs to manage expenses, vendors, and our eBilling system (Serengeti). Provide creative thinking to help identify and develop cutting-edge strategies for increasing value and reducing outside legal spend while maintaining high standards for legal support and optimizing engagement practices with other departments and law firms. Manage senior staff meeting agendas and logistics for department summits (and similar team meetings), including scheduling, materials, follow up, etc., and implement surveys and after-action reports. Develop and manage department quarterly objectives, performance, metrics, benchmarking and reporting. Oversee development and implementation of knowledge management (e.g., on SharePoint, document management, Salesforce), department policies, and communications. Implement and manage training and professional development initiatives including education on best practices. Identify trends and recommend solutions to improve performance, retention and employee experience. Craft strategies to raise the profile of the Legal team in the company, industry and community. Responsible for other projects, plans and initiatives as determined by the General Counsel. Must have Bachelor’s degree preferably in business or finance. Should preferably have JD and/or MBA degree. 10 years of work experience in operations, with 3+ years in legal operations is preferred. Proven track record of making an impact, developing and executing on strategies and delivering superior results in both the short and long term is required. Understanding of law firm or other similar professional services billing and pricing, and experience with alternative fee arrangements is must. Technology-savvy, with proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel is needed. Expertise with eBilling software (Serengeti Tracker, preferred).
