ProfileParalegal Duties: Supports company general counsel by providing guidance on legal, regulatory, licensing, Fraud/Waste/Abuse compliance issues, civil rights compliance, “notice of audit” management, custody agreements, and subpoenas. Performs administrative and clerical tasks as well as legal research. Managing employee training schedules, PROMISE data entry, and ordering supplies. Review legal documents such as agency contracts and real property lease agreements as requested. Review and interpret contracts and other legal documents. Assist in managing the Agency’s Civil Rights compliance program. Identify and report potential legal issues to in house counsel. Manager “Notice of Audit” paperwork for various programs and assist with oversight of audit process. Assist with agency’s Compliance Plan, set up systems to monitor adherence to the Compliance Plan, address reports of putative infractions, and interface with the Attorney General’s Office, Office of Medical Assistance and payers regarding reports of fraud, waste or abuse.. Oversee internal inspections monitoring compliance with regulations and payers’ contractual requirements. Assist Director of Human Resources on employment law issues and, as appropriate, work with outside counsel in handling of legal actions filed against the agency. Assist with all program licensure inspections. Assist with successful triennial joint commission accreditations surveys and submit annual periodic performance reviews. Advise on legal, licensing, and regulatory issues as well as employment law issues . Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Associates Degree. Paralegal Certificate required. 2+ years’ experience working as a paralegal in the healthcare field. Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills. Comfortable Handling Large Work Load under Time Constraints. Sound Knowledge of Law and Legal System. Strong Organizational skills. Superior Research Skills. Interpersonal Skills. High Level of Discretion with Confidential Matters. Detail-Oriented, Computer Skills, Ability to Prioritize. Works Well with Different Personality Types.
