Supervisory Paralegal Specialist, GS 12 The candidate will provide responsibilities include: Supervising a staff responsible for providing legal support work arising from seizures, penalties and liquidated damages. Reviewing and finalizing claims for liquidated damages and penalty cases; preparing a synopsis of the case including alternatives and recommended solutions. Planning the work to be accomplished by your subordinates, setting and adjusting short-term priorities, and preparing schedules for completion of the work. Evaluating work performance of subordinates; giving advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. Finding ways to improve productivity or increasing the quality of the work directed; and/or developing performance standards. Travel is required.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have following qualifications. For GS-12 Level: Must have 1+ year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties include: Determining the need for additional case information and planning an approach to obtain this information. Evaluating the relevance and worth of evidence/supporting documentation. Examining and evaluating claim deficiencies. Reviewing economic trends and forecasts to evaluate the impact of successful prosecution. Preparing charts, graphs, and tables to illustrate results. Note: This job is open to internal to an agency, Current federal employees of this agency, Clarification from the agency, Current U.S. Customs and Border Protection employees who are currently working in a permanent competitive service position.
