Manhattan Beach office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks mid-level litigation attorney with 6-10 years of experience. The candidate will be responsible for generating and managing legal services in the firm?s litigation department. Will represent clients in court cases and other kinds of adversarial legal proceedings, such as arbitrations, mediations, and administrative law proceedings. Must be familiar with court processes and procedures, and is comfortable presenting cases in front of judges and juries. Handle matters at the inception of the client relationship, such as preparing and executing engagement letters; meeting with, communicating with, and advising clients; and developing a comprehensive litigation strategy tailored to clients? goals. Conduct pre-litigation activities, such as identifying the potential issues, researching the applicable law, assembling names of potential witnesses, interviewing witnesses and other parties relevant to the case, and examining evidence that could be used at trial. Prepare pleadings, motions, applications, briefs, settlement agreements, and other litigation-related documents. Manage and execute discovery plans, such as preparing and responding to interrogatories, requests for production of documents, requests for admission, and subpoenas. Take depositions of other parties, percipients, or expert witnesses, and defend clients? depositions. Represent clients in the courtroom by presenting clients? cases, submitting evidence, examining and cross-examining witnesses and experts, and arguing motions. Participate in mediation and settlement conferences with judges. Oversee the strategy for clients to collect judgments entered in their favor. Draft post-trial motions, identify grounds for appeal, collect evidence for the appellate record, develop strategies for appeal, draft documents for appeal, and present the appeal before the appellate court. Must be licensed by the California State Bar. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, Westlaw, and NetDocuments.
