Senior Leasing Counsel The candidate advises and provides legal support to Regency teams, such as leasing, development, and/or operations teams, in connection with a high volume of leasing, leasing-related, and other types of matters including, but not limited to, (1) reviewing, drafting, and negotiating leases and leasing-related documents related to local, regional, and national tenants, (2) analyzing complex issues related to rights and obligations of shopping center tenants and occupants, and (3) assisting with the business risk assessment of a particular course of action. Collaborates directly with Regency team members at all levels within the company including senior leadership. Coordinates with and provides support to paralegals in terms of promoting their professional growth and development and supervising work product and work volume. Assists in improving leasing and leasing-related forms, processes, and procedures. Provides legal training to field office teams and outside counsel.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have a Juris Doctorate Degree from an ABA-certified law school. Membership in State Bar association. Should have 8-10 years of experience, including supervisory experience, in commercial real estate matters including retail leasing, acquisitions/dispositions, financings, and due diligence such as title and survey review. Legal expertise in the area of retail leasing. Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Word. Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Strong research, writing, and advocacy skills. Strong analytical, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills. Strong legal drafting skills. Ability to analyze and present complex information with ease and reliable accuracy. Proficiency in working in systems such as document generation and matter management systems. Strong attention to detail, organization, priority setting, and time-management skills. Ability to travel periodically to various field offices and the corporate office located in Jacksonville, Florida to build relationships, conduct training, and otherwise collaborate with both business and legal team members. Highly trustworthy and able to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately. High level of professionalism and integrity. Strong leadership skills, such as motivating and developing team members and effectively collaborating with senior leadership. Enthusiasm and pride in work product and desire to collaborate with others to promote continuous improvement. Self-motivated to handle multiple challenges and drive results at a brisk pace.
