Job Overview:

A law firm seeks two motivated Associate Attorneys to join their team in Leesburg, VA. The firm is looking for candidates with experience in either real estate law, focusing on land use, development, and commercial transactions, or family law, assisting with divorce, custody, and related matters. Duties:

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using platforms such as Lexis-Nexis to support case strategies.
  • Draft a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and agreements.
  • Negotiate settlements and agreements, advocating for clients’ best interests.
  • Assist in trial preparation, organizing evidence, and formulating legal arguments.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategies and participate in client meetings.
  • Maintain organized case files and office documentation to ensure smooth case management.
  • Stay informed about legislative changes and updates in case law relevant to the practice area.

Requirements:

  • Active membership in the Virginia State Bar.
  • 1-3 years of legal experience, preferably in real estate or family law.
  • Proficient in legal research and document drafting; familiarity with Lexis-Nexis is an advantage.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to advocate for clients effectively.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment while managing individual caseloads.
  • A strong connection or willingness to establish roots in Loudoun County is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Virginia (Virginia State Bar membership required).
