Special Counsel - Employment Law The candidate will report to the Associate General Counsel for Employment Law. Will provide advice and strategic support to the AGC of Employment Law, to People + Culture and to the Bank's business leaders regarding a range of employment law issues including those relating to recruiting, hiring, terminations, compensation, accommodations, leaves of absence, diversity programs, employee classification, and other matters related to work. Provide direction and counsel to the investigations team handling internal EEO investigations. Manage employment-related disputes and litigation. Draft and negotiate employment-related contracts (such as NDAs and consulting agreements). Participate in creating and delivering training related to employment law matters. Use creative and practical approaches to handling legal risks and resolving disputes.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a J.D. degree from a nationally recognized ABA accredited law school and excellent academic credentials. Must have 10+ years of Federal and California employment law experience in a law firm and in-house. Experience with immigration and employee privacy a plus. Should be a member in good standing with the State Bar of California or ability to satisfy its requirements for eligibility as registered in-house counsel. A practical and progressive approach to the practice of employment law is required. Target Start Date: February 1, 2020.
