Job Title: Commercial Real Estate Associate Attorney
Location: New Haven, CT (Hybrid remote opportunity)

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial Real Estate Associate Attorney to join their growing team. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of complex real estate transactions, collaborating closely with senior attorneys. This is a dynamic role where you will take part in drafting, negotiating, and managing various commercial real estate matters, including purchase agreements, leasing, and financing.

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate commercial real estate documents, including purchase and sale agreements, letters of intent, deeds, and more
  • Conduct due diligence reviews, monitor contingencies, and address title objections, survey, and environmental reviews
  • Prepare closing documents, and wire transfers, and review title commitments and policies
  • Coordinate title searches, UCC, judgment and lien searches, surveys, site plans, and leases
  • Oversee pre- and post-closing activities, including document preparation for recording/filing
  • Communicate with clients, banks, attorneys, and other involved parties to manage the closing process
  • Review, negotiate, and manage commercial leases, including common area maintenance clauses
  • Supervise agreements with developers and handle approvals for necessary conditions before payments or disbursements
  • Draft and review initial documentation, coordinate document execution, and obtain approvals as needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial real estate and financing
  • Experience in land use and zoning transactions is preferred
  • Active admission to the Connecticut Bar (or ability to waive in)
  • Admission to the New York and Massachusetts Bars is a plus (or ability to waive in)
  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the Bar
  • Proven commitment to exceptional client service and professionalism
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Corporate experience is desirable
  • Military experience is welcomed and valued

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Bar (Connecticut required, New York and Massachusetts preferred)
