ProfileLegal Assistant/Receptionist The candidate Maintains case files, calendars and coordinates appointments. Prepares legal pleadings and other documents as directed. Performs data entry and other clerical/secretarial responsibilities including processing client documents. Must be able to conduct discovery, perform detailed research, schedule depositions, and process issuance of subpoenas. Conducts telephonic or in-person intakes with clients, meets with clients, and performs other specialized projects for the Unit as they arise. A High School graduate or equivalent, Legal Studies Education and/or Paralegal track certification strongly preferred. Law firm experience (5+years) with background in family/housing law preferred, experience in support of litigation and commitment working with low-income and/or vulnerable clients and communities on civil legal matters also a plus. Must have excellent phone manner and professional customer service ability required, with superior organizational and highly polished communication and writing skills. Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office 365). Bilingual (English-Spanish; spoken and written fluency) required. Must have significant professional experience with family/housing/LLT law.
