Associate Director, US Patent Counsel The candidate will ensure IP of Ferring is protected, maintained, owned and enforced; Ensure Ferring’s respect for third party rights; Support in- and out-licensing; and advise and train business stakeholders on IP patent portfolio management and drug product lifecycle management. Responsible for patent portfolios and their management, including: Portfolio strategy, patentability and validity assessments and drafting and worldwide patent prosecution in the areas of responsibility. Support of BD departments including: P due diligence, In- and out-licensing. Support of R&D, Marketing and Commercial, and Regulatory functions. Inter partes review (US)/Oppositions (EP). Patent litigation. Legal IP advice on agreements (employment, service, research, supply, licensing, joint-venture) and IP license negotiations. Must be qualified U.S. patent attorney, admitted to practice in one state and eligible for registration as In-House Counsel in New Jersey. Master’s degree or Ph. D in biotech engineering, chemistry or biology is needed. 8-15 years of experience in the patent field, including 4-8 years as a patent attorney is must. Experience with biologic patents and USPTO subject matter eligibility guidelines is desired. Experience in multinational environment is helpful. Experience in managing Patent Searchers or Paralegals is an asset
