Communication Speclst (social Media) - GS 9 – 11
The candidate will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals involved in providing a full range of designing, refining, and implementing HRM's New Media Strategy. Typical work assignments include: Planning, researching, and writing communication plans and products to include press release, talking points, articles, web content, social media posts, and marketing materials. Drafting social media posts and assists with monitoring social media campaigns. Measuring effectiveness of communication campaigns, to include social media. Participating in communication projects. Coordinating with stakeholders.
Experience: Must possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Planning, researching, and writing internal and external publications. Participating in communication improvement projects to analyze communication effectiveness. Collaborating and communicating with designers, developers, and writers to conceptualize and create innovative online communication.
Experience: Should possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Planning, researching, and writing internal and external publications. Education Substitution:
GS-09: A Master's degree, two full years of graduate education, a J.D. or an LL.B. degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for experience required at this level.
GS-11: A Ph.D. or an equivalent doctoral degree, three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.M. degree may substitute for experience required at this level.
Combining Experience and Education: To combine education and experience, must convert each to a percentage, and then add the percentages. If education is currently described in quarter hours, multiply by the fraction 2/3 to convert into semester hours then divide the semester hours by 18. To determine percentage of qualifying experience, divide total months of experience by the required number of months of experience. Add percentages together. The total must equal at least 100% in order to qualify.
