Spring Internship Intern work for Public Integrity Bureau. The mission of the Public Integrity Bureau is to promote honest government. This is done by investigating and, when appropriate, prosecuting criminal conduct committed by elected and appointed officials, government employees, and those doing business with the County, towns and villages in Suffolk County. Examples of conduct handled by the Bureau are bribery, extortion, fraud, embezzlement, abuse of authority, and excessive use of force by law enforcement. The Public Integrity Bureau is a critical part of maintaining the public’s trust in government and ensuring that all people are treated fairly under the law. Interns are assigned to bureaus within the office where they are teamed with assistant district attorneys to assist in areas such as legal research and writing, trial preparation, witness interviews, court calendar control and evidence organization.
