Counsel - Commercial Attorney The candidate will provide exceptional legal advice and guidance to Global Products and Services business clients. Draft and negotiate contracts. Handle fast paced and high volume workload. Identify legal issues and business risks and escalate appropriately. Maintain an organized and service oriented practice. Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. Identify and collaborate with subject matter experts from other departments, especially the Legal, Regulatory Counsel and Compliance teams. Demonstrate knowledge of general commercial and healthcare law. Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies. Work under the general supervision of senior attorneys and exercise sound judgment as to matters that require attention of Legal Department senior leadership. Provides legal advice to business clients based on knowledge of commercial/transactional laws, and healthcare laws and regulations, including Sales, Antitrust laws, Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, and FDCA. Consults with and seeks guidance from senior attorneys when appropriate. Has effective contract drafting and negotiating skills. Identifies and assesses business and legal risks. Demonstrates excellent communication skills and ability to provide business clients with clear and precise guidance on business and legal risks. Develops and conducts legal training for business clients. Identifies key stakeholders within the business and consults with them regarding legal and business risks. Seeks input and expertise from other in-house lawyers and outside counsel and provides guidance to the business based on discussions with subject-matter experts. Understands complex legal and business situations and discerns relevant versus non-relevant facts and information. Collaborates with others and builds knowledge of business and key stakeholders. Should have J.D. degree with a record of high academic achievement in the undergraduate level and in law school. Must be license to practice law in Massachusetts, Ohio or active bar license in another state. Should have 3+ years in related field, preferred in a large complex organization. Commercial/transactional experience required, some familiarity with healthcare law preferred.
