Legal Assistant The candidate will draft, review, proofread, and route routine correspondence, reports, and legal documents. Maintain confidentiality. Organize client conferences and attorney meetings. Communicate and schedule appointments with clients. Schedule couriers, court reporters, and other special functions. Prepare expense reports. Make travel arrangements. Maintains attorney calendars and proactively anticipates the attorneys’ needs. File and secure client documents. Enters time into billing system.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have 4 years relevant experience in a professional legal setting. Working knowledge of preparing and filing pleadings, briefs, notices, and subpoenas. Highly organized. Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines. Keen attention to detail. Able to work with minimal supervision. Knowledge of Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Understand the courts’ expectations for filings and procedures. Working knowledge of E-Filing. Positive and professional attitude. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with others in a team. Ability to follow firm procedures and adhere to the firm’s personnel policies.
