Litigation Paralegal - Medical Malpractice The candidate will work for the plaintiff’s personal injury cases and help manage civil cases from intake to jury verdict. Will manage cases, organize and review medical records, write summaries of medical records, draft parts of demand letters and court filings, conduct research, draft correspondence, draft and revise discovery, interact with national expert witnesses, and prepare the attorney for trial. Will be seeking justice for survivors who have suffered an injury, loss, or other trauma as a result of professional negligence by a health care provider. Will respond to increasing demand and specialization.
Qualification and Experience The candidate should preferably have a Bachelor’s degree, however other work experience and education will be considered. Advanced degree and professionally credentialed applicants are welcome. Must have experience from backgrounds including social service agencies with case management; trauma-informed professionals; nurse case managers; law enforcement investigation; other pertinent experience. Must have experience reading and interpreting medical records. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneDrive is required. Prior experience as a Paralegal is helpful. Should have the ability to work effectively as a member of a team with attorneys, clients, other paralegals, legal assistants, and outside organizations, as well as have strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage many duties simultaneously. Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills, as well as an aptitude for technology, are essential.
