A law firm seeks an experienced Attorney with a focus on personal injury litigation related to construction and labor law to join its team in New York, NY. This position is ideal for a seasoned attorney with over 10 years of experience in handling plaintiff or defendant personal injury cases. The role provides an opportunity to work with a well-established and growing firm that has been operating successfully for nearly four decades.

Duties:

• Conduct depositions and represent clients in court appearances.
• Engage in motion practice and prepare cases for trial.
• Handle settlement negotiations, working towards favorable outcomes for clients.
• Collaborate with colleagues on case strategy and trial preparation.
• Communicate with clients, ensuring they are updated on case progress and legal strategies.
• Work on a variety of personal injury cases related to construction and labor law.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in plaintiff or defense personal injury litigation, particularly in construction and labor law.
• Trial and/or mediation experience is highly preferred.
• Strong writing and drafting skills for legal briefs, motions, and other court documents.
• Proficiency in computer software, including legal research tools and case management systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced legal environment, managing multiple cases.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the state of New York.

Skills:

• Exceptional litigation skills, with experience in depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Strong written and oral communication abilities.
• Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational skills to manage complex cases.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.
