General Counsel and Vice President
Duties: Providing management with guidance in identifying and managing legal risks. Drafting and analyzing a wide variety of commercial contracts, leases, and vendor agreements. Partner with Human Resources to maintain compliance with employment matters and employee relations. Interpret general employment, anti-discrimination, wage/hour, benefit and immigration laws, rulings and regulations for individuals and businesses. Anticipating legal risks and actively manage to reduce company exposure. Direct responsibility for managing the legal & HR department’s financial budget. Providing direct legal support to all the regional offices of the company. Keeps fully informed of all new developments in corporate legal matters and keeps all levels of management informed of applicable new laws and progress of on-going legal matters. As required, select outside legal counsel, manage and evaluate their activities.

Qualification and Experience

QUALIFICATIONS: JD degree from ABA accredited law school. 6+ years of experience, working in a law firm and/or corporate legal department. Active member of at least one State Bar in good standing. Knowledge and experience in commercial real estate matters; employment law and HR issues, contract negotiation and review, and management of outside counsel. Excellent analytical skills, strong organizational skills and high attention to detail. Inspires confidence throughout the organization, a drive to deliver quality work product on time and in a highly ethical and professional manner. Good strategic thinking and business acumen. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms and reports, and other office procedures and terminology. Familiarity with data base and document management software.
