Paralegal The candidate will be an integral part of the Legal team, assisting members of the Legal team from the Adtalem Global Education home office. Will be engaged with general paralegal and administrative needs within the legal department of a global, publicly traded education services company. These duties include general litigation management support, maintenance of Adtalem Legalâ€™s intranet site, and internal investigations. As needed, the Paralegal will support other projects for the Adtalem Legal team. The ideal candidate will be experienced, highly organized and motivated, detail oriented and able to work well both as part of a team and independently. Provide legal assistance to the Associate General Counsel to whom the paralegal reports, as well as other litigation and employment attorneys. Create and maintain electronic case files in matter management system. Coordinate and track insurance reporting on claims. Prepare bordereau reports. Issue and coordinate compliance with litigation holds. Conduct internal fact-finding and investigations. Coordinate witness interviews and deposition preparation for Adtalem attorneys and/or outside counsel. Coordinate document production and discovery matters. Interface with outside counsel on litigation-related issues. Track and create reports as needed on litigation matters, including costs, trends and root causes. Maintain, as requested, Legal Departmentâ€™s intranet page. Assist, as requested, with matters related to legal support for individual educational institutions, including institutional policies and student complaint and code of conduct matters. With direction from a supervising attorney, draft position statements, investigation reports, case assessments and correspondence. Respond to information requests from colleagues outside Adtalem Legal, including research of legal matters and historical information from company records and information from other departments; review documents and transmit information and documents to outside counsel and organization personnel with minimal guidance from supervising attorney. Complete other duties as assigned. Should have Associateâ€™s degree. Preferred: Litigation paralegal experience. Must have experience working in cross functional groups. Preferred: Administrative expertise with legal management systems (such as Westlaw and/or Lexis, Counsel Link, Relativity). Preferred: Exposure to insurance claims management.
