Profile

General Attorney (Tax), GS-13/14
Duties: The candidate will provide full range of legal services on all domestic and international tax issues. Will prepare answers to petitions, replies, motions, and other documents relevant to the case. Research, analyze facts, and write legal opinions in response to questions. Provide legal advice and recommendations to agents.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications:
For GS-13: The candidate must have a J.D. degree and 2+ years of professional legal experience after receiving a J.D. degree, of which 1+ year is in tax law (1 year must have been comparable to the GS-12 level).
OR
Possess a Tax LL.M. degree with 1 year of professional tax legal experience (1 year must be comparable to the GS-12 level).

Must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes complex litigation involving large multinational corporations, transfer pricing, antitrust, intellectual property, securities, and tax.

For GS-14: The candidate must have a J.D. and 3+ years of professional legal experience after receiving a J.D. degree, of which 2+ years is in tax law (1 year must be comparable to the GS-13 level).
OR
Possess a Tax LL.M. degree and 2 years of professional tax legal experience (1 year must be comparable to the GS-13 level).

Must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes complex litigation involving large multinational corporations, transfer pricing, antitrust, intellectual property, securities, and tax.
