Counsel 4 - Commercial Workout Section Strategic Coordinator The candidate will coordinate and be responsible for the timely delivery of all Section reporting. Liaise with division-level counterpart & team for Section generally, including on project staffing, client portal content, etc. The SIC role should not duplicate efforts with the Division-wide team and should ensure full coordination to avoid any such risk. In coordination with relevant Section Legal Department managers, liaise with front line compliance/risk organization for section generally. The SIC should help manage and facilitate regular risk and compliance meetings/interface across teams in the Section. Participate and/or coordinate participation by Section members in broader division, department or company-wide projects and risk efforts. Participate in and/or coordinate specific team or Section-wide participation in projects and reviews, including policy and procedure reviews, legal projects, risk-related projects, presentations, etc. Represent Section in specific working groups as appropriate. Maintain SME list for Section. Acts as Section-level resource generally for enterprise risk and control groups. Manage major identified initiatives for Section. Maintain relevant reports/templates on SIC-related activities and review of Section Passport reporting. Responsible for providing support to commercial workout groups responsible for business, commercial, real estate, energy, asset backed, and specialty loans and leases with heavy emphasis on loan restructuring, bankruptcy, foreclosure, asset disposition, and collection related legal support and risk management. Other responsibilities as determined in coordination with Section lead.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have active State Bar membership. Should have 8+ years of experience as a practicing attorney; or 6+ years of experience as a practicing attorney and 2+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following areas: risk, compliance, contracts, government/regulatory, financial services, or technology. Should preferably have ability to analyze legal issues in substantive law in area of practice and provide effective advice to clients on complex legal matters. Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines is preferred. Other Desired Qualifications: Broad knowledge of lending transactions, commercial workouts, bankruptcy, foreclosures, asset disposition, collection strategies, and the related regulatory environment.
