ProfileAttorney The candidate will provide legal advice and representation to ensure that Agency accomplishes its mission in compliance with applicable laws. Will ascertain facts, analyze issues, apply legal authorities, render opinions, and advocate Agency positions. Perform legal research and writing, counsel clients, and represent the Agency before legal forums. Oversee and direct Agency programs. Provide timely, accurate, and practical legal advice and counsel to ensure Agency accomplishes its mission in compliance with the Constitution, Presidential Directives and policies, and applicable laws. Conduct research, render legal opinions, conduct litigation, and advocate Agency positions. Work cooperatively with others within the office, the Agency, the Intelligence Community, the Department of Defense, and the US Government. Perform legal research and writing, counsel clients, and represent the Agency before legal fora.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a J.D. degree from a law school accredited by the ABA. Should be a member in good standing of a Bar of a US State or territory, the District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Should preferably have 1+ year of experience practicing law, post licensure. Experience providing support to the US Military, Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, or other US government agencies is desired. Should preferably also have prior experience or demonstrated interest in one or more of the following areas: administrative law matters, to include human relations policies, procedures and programs; administrative litigation; ethics; equal employment opportunity law; personnel and facility security law; FOIA/Privacy Act; legislation; and environmental law; mission and international law matters, to include authorities; intelligence law; international law and agreements; and intelligence and information sharing issues involving big data, the cloud, open source, social media, applications, copyright, and trademarks; acquisition law and intellectual property matters, to include the formation and administration of government contracts, intellectual property rights, bid protests, claims and disputes, and fiscal law; and national security and Constitutional law, with a focus on privacy, civil liberties, the oversight of intelligence activities, or other similar regulatory compliance experience such as incident reporting, mitigation, and resolution. Demonstrated ability to provide timely, accurate, and practical legal advice to enable an organizational mission consistent with the Constitution, Presidential directives and applicable law is needed.
